Kendriya Vidyalaya Gopeshwar is one of the newly opened KV during the session 2010-11 vide KVS HQ order dated 10.07.2010 . The Vidyalaya came into existence by the joining of its first staff Dr S.K.Sharma as in charge Principal on 28.7.2010 , the admission process started on 22.09.2010 was formally inaugurated on 25.10.2010.The city of Gopeshwar is district headquarter of Distt Chamoli, Uttarakhand. The place has the prominence due to the old temple of Lord Gopinath in the centre of the city and is on the route of Shri Kedarnath Dham to Shri Baderinath Dham.
The Vidyalaya started running the classes from 25.9.2010 with classes from I to V. These classes are being run in the temporary accommodation/tin sheds provided by the District administration in the premises of Govt. Girls Inter College Kund , Gopeshwar.
